About me
Hello, my name is Marcos Harston and thank you for visiting my website M.Harston Photography (formally EyeCanSeeMedia.)
M.Harston Photography is about capturing and editing high quality stills of our collective history, and presenting it to others to step back into, if only just for a moment. Do you know what it feels like to stand onstage at a historic concert, win a tennis world tournament, or football championship? Perhaps you’ve seen beautiful fireworks lighting up the night sky, but did you really notice everything happening right around you? We’re so busy half the time that we miss out on so many of these incredible moments.
M.Harston Photography is how I set out to recapture those moments. My images aim to transport you to a point in time where you can feel the same energy I felt looking through my camera.
While photography is always the central focus of this website, I will also use this space to share a variety of work I created. There will be reviews of film and television, technology, and music from time to time.
In 2008, I studied at Humber College in the Broadcast Television/Videography program. I’ve also been to Sheridan College for Motion Picture Camera Assisting. Throughout my career i’ve worked in cinemas, sold professional camera equipment in digital imaging sales, audio/video technician work for major concert touring, and I’ve repaired and maintianed professional lighting equipment for film and tv production in a rental triage department.
Over the years my love of video cameras developed into a keen interest in still photography. I use Canon, Sony, and my Apple iPhone camera the most. I’m always looking for time to photograph more, take part in photowalks and workshops, and edit my images. The goal is to always keep improving, keep learning and have fun.
When I'm not holding a camera, you will find me playing a guitar, listening to my record collection, or both. Music is a big part of my life so I’ll always have an album on the turntable while editing photographs. As for live music, I've been lucky enough to see many concerts and photograph at iconic venues across North America and Europe. From Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Denver, Colorado, to the Royal Albert Hall in London, England, to Massey Hall and the Rogers Centre right here in Toronto, Canada. Being up front at Wembley Stadium is one memory that will always stay with me. Hearing 90,000+ people behind you singing and cheering is a feeling you can easily get lost in. It's the purest form of energy! If I could bottle it up I would give everyone a sample. My goal and lifelong dream is to match my talents with my passion for the arts and make quality photographic and digital media content. Photographing concerts, sports, and important live events is where my mind is locked in, focused, and full of energy.
I look forward to sharing all aspects of my work here. Thank you for visiting and please support your local record stores and artists of all kinds.
Visualize what you want to achieve, create your vision, and dream up new ideas.
